Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe as well as the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine Her real name has been given as Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta however, she comes out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing the piano in the church. She was a student at Spellman College and began to master the R&B style of Atlanta. Her voice also appeared in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. She took on the role of primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) was approached for the position of choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2009 inauguration.
