Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. Anne Burrell. Burrell is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature long, blonde hair with a pumped up personality reveals easy techniques to master and reduces anxiety about restaurant food in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the city's most prestigious establishments, learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions, and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster, living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in managing restaurants when she received an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful opportunity for me. I could not be more educated or accomplished in my studies. After graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, which has had an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell is a well-known ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids with disabilities. She speaks about her cooking passion, and also shares her expertise in the culinary world, as she regularly travels throughout the US in both her roles as speakers and mentors. Anne has said throughout her professional career she's grateful to be able communicate with people what is most important for her.
